Students are able to take part in one of the many afternoon activities offered at the school. A guide from
the school is provided and outings take place at least twice weekly. A few examples of our current guided
tours are:
Pablo Neruda's House
A tour to the Bellavista home of the famous poet Pablo Neruda along with interesting facts and anecdotes
regarding his life. Neruda, the winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1971, had three houses, one in the
district of Bellavista in Santiago called La Chascona, another in Valparaíso called La Sebastiana, and a third
at Isla Negra. All are unique, charming, and reflect the eccentricity of the poet.
Concho y Toro Vineyard
We visit this famous "viña", where we'll tour the vineyard, taste the excellent wines, and have the
opportunity to purchase them as well. Wine and old legends run rampant regarding the wine cellars where
the founding owner used to keep his best crop of the year in order to prevent thievery from his employees.
Mercado Central:
Located in the heart of Santiago, the nearly one hundred year-old central market is a centre where students
can visit innumerable restaurants with different Chilean specialities. Our students will be able to taste
traditional Chilean fish dishes. The possibility also exists to browse handcrafted goods as well as fish, meat,
flowers, and vegetables.
Aside from these activities, we visit various other parks, theatres, and small towns in and nearby Santiago.
